F.A.Q.
Below are some common questions we receive:
Do you make custom jewelry?
Yes we do! We would love to assist you in bringing your custom jewelry ideas to life. The process begins with you filling out our custom inquiry form and providing as much detail as possible. Next our team will create a computer design or hand carved model for your request. Finally, it will be manufactured in the metal and natural stones of your choice then polished to perfection. (Custom work starts at $750 and up.)
Are your products real?
Yes, everything we make at the Hammerwork Jewelry Company is 100% authentic and natural. We do not sell anything gold-plated or gold-filled. All gemstones are of natural origin and any known treatments will be properly disclosed.
What is the difference in solid gold and gold plated?
Solid gold items means the entire product is created in the stated metal. For example: a 14 karat solid gold ring that weighs 10 grams, is 10 grams of 14 karat gold. Gold-plating, also known as electroplating is a physics phenomena where an extremely small amount of the said metal (less than 0.01g) is evenly put around the object using an electric current. The gold plating is extremely thin and cheap and will wear off within a short amount time. Gold plated objects are also essentially worthless since there is almost no actual precious metal used. Solid gold items will look great for decades to come and are significantly more valuable.
How long does it take to receive my item after ordering?
All of our items are made to order. Orders are generally completed and ready to ship in 5-10 business days depending on the complexity of the item. Solid precious metal grills are generally completed 3-6 weeks from receiving your impression, Diamond grills take around 8-10 weeks for completion after receiving your impression.
Do you offer mold kits?
We currently do not offer mold kits. This is because if you have never taken an impression, it is very (very) easy to make a mistake. An inaccurate impression will result in grills that do not fit properly. We may make this option available at some point in the future with very detailed instructions. Currently we require you to see your local dentist and mail us the impression for the most accurate model of your teeth. It is a very simple quick process this way that will save time and headaches on both ends.
